PRS Korea 2017 (The 75th Congress of the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons) was held on Nov 10th to 12th, 2017! The topic of this year's forum was 'Discovering the Beauty' and it was held on the one of the biggest conference places 'Grand Intercontinental Seoul Parnas' in Samsung-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul.

 This is the biggest forum of Plastic and Reconstructive surgeons held in Korea, and not only domestic doctors but also international doctors from all around come to join as well. This conference was co-hosted with Korean Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association symposium, The 3rd Asian Blepharoplasty Forum, and The 1st Asian Forum for Fat&Stem Cells.
 
The Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons held conference on international scale that more than 1,400 doctors including about 300 international surgeons joined celebrating the 50th anniversary of the association and was acknowledged Korea's world stage of Reconstructive and plastic surgery.

In this conference under the main title 'Discovering the Beauty', various sessions not only about plastic surgery techniques but also including beautiful eyes, nose, physiognomy, body, breasts or etc. and how could reach the targets.
 
You can see the big green session held in Room 3, on the right side? Dr.Kim was the moderator of the big session!

What mainly made this conference different from another conventional forums was that it gave doctors to share 'What is Beauty?; Similarities & Differences among countries in Beauty & Surgical Trends.
 
Dr.Kim was one of the two moderators for the big 2 hours session that plastic surgeons from 8 different countries presenting based on the topic. He has been acknowledged by the association regarding his technical skills as well as perfectly fluent language ability (4 languages; English, Malay, Bahasa, and Korean) and was asked to be leading the session.

As well as the conference of 50th anniversary, there were more than 1,500 doctors including 300 doctors from different countries joined the conference! The conference was held for 3 days, wow!

The Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons started in 1966, currently 2,298 regular members(board-certified surgeons) and 320 residents, and specialized group acknowledged internationally in plastic surgery and reconstructive surgery field.

However, thoughtless and disorganized cosmetic surgeries by group of non-technical doctors are still often done in Korea. The association aimed to ruminate the responsibility and duty as board-certified plastic surgeon through this conference and, plans to cut the harmful effects and try to make the healthy and beautiful environment.
