What's Up,Korea?) Type of Korean tradition hats!

Do you enjoy watching TV?

I love to watch Korean drama!

There are "Kingdom" Season2 on Netfilx !! yeay!!

I realized, there are so many people interested in Korean tradition hat in the Kingdom.

When I heard of it, it was really hilarious. Because to all of Koreans, we never thought it's cool, and we just didn't care what kind of hats we have.

It was just.... there. you know what I mean. haha.

But then, I realize our Korean hat could be very interesting to many foreigners!

The reason why hats are so various in Korea is, ancient Korean thought we should not show off even they have lots of money.

Being frugal was very important thing in Korea. 

So the clothes' shape or color wasn't that various, people decide to show their formality, authority and dignity through their hats.

Isn't it funny? haha.

Let me introduce some hat type now~

01. Black gat (흑립)

 Outdoor hat worn by nobleman. If the side is wider, he's showing off his wealth.

-horse's tail-

It's made by horse's tail. Because of it, the black gat is very light.

02. White gat (백립)

Hat worn by during someone's funeral and after few months or years.

03. Jeongjagwan (정자관)

Hat worn by upper-class scholars at home. Indoor hat.

Upper-class scholar man mush have this hat at least one.

04. Samo (사모)

Hat worn by government officials during work.

05. Jurip (주립)

Hat worn by government army with military uniform.

06. Jeollip (전립)

Hat worn by government army with military uniform.

It's ornament shows his rank.
