What's Up, Korea?) Korean's soul food!! Beef Tripe.

Hello ST People~

Today I would like to talk about famous food in Korea!
Beef Tripe is very popular among Asian, but I heard it's quite expensive in some Asian countries.
I want you to introduce nice restaurant you can enjoy near Gangnam~!

신사소곱창 (Sinsa Beef Tripe)
(ST Plastic Surgery Clinic, Korea)

Grilled Beef Tripe is quite popular in any generation in Korea!
Port entrail is also favored as well, but I think Korean likes the beef's one better because of its simple and less oily taste.
Like other eating places in Garosugil, 신사소곱창 also opens at late afternoon to early in the morning for people who finish work at night and come to the place with their friends to enjoy food and alcohol.
Opening hours are from 5PM to 3AM during weekdays and Saturdays, and 5PM to 1AM on Sundays. I usually go there around 7~7:30PM after work and stay less than 2hrs. (depending on how much we drink, hehe~!)
If you go there after 7PM, you cannot avoid waiting since the store itself is not that big. But the restaurant has a high customer turnover ratio so you do not usually have to wait longer than 30mins. (I cannot guarantee though~)

This is the basic setting you will be served when you order food. You got Korean ramen, a dish of raw liver and omasum, Korean style pickle, seasoned green onion, and some sauces. The main food is pre-grilled inside of the kitchen so they serve you to eat something before the main food being served.

I like Beef Tripe and Port entrail when they are grilled, but do not personally favor the two things on the dish especially when they are raw. I remember most of my friends or even my parents enjoy eating them, but I...had never tried and I don't think I can try in further time.

The seasoned green onion is a simple kind of Kimchi which you can either eat as it is when eating Beef Tripe or you can grill it together to eat warm. Since the main food is bit oily so you must eat something fresh together such as seasoned green onion or pickle.

About after 10 mins, there we have 곱창모듬 (Intestine made dish) which is the mixtured dish of Abomasum, Tripe, cow heart, and liver. Also you get chopped rice cake and potato together~ (we just put seasoned green onion and kimchi on it when it was just served)
When I bring my Ukrainian friend who got married and lives in Korea, she could not eat the intestine things (since she had never tried before) but rather enjoyed the rice cake and potato so we ordered extra portion for her. You can order more if you want~ The served size is two portions (for two people)

When you are almost done? You will never end until you get your fried rice!
If you are nornally full and with 2 friends, for example, order 2 portions of the fried rice to enjoy your last your meal!
What's unique about this place is that they serve stirred-egg around the rice so you can have the rice with nicely cooked warm egg!

Here it is! When egg is about to get cooked, mix the rice with egg!!!

When you are visiting to Korea (especially around Gangnam area), must visit 신사소곱창 with your friends! It is authentic Korean dinner!
