Today, I would like to introduce one of the most interesting experience you could try during your trip to Korea! Gyeongbokgung Palace tour in Han-bok!
Gyeongbokgung Palace was built in 1395 and commonly referred to as the Northern Palace because of its location at furthest north when comparing 2 of other 4 palaces. No doubt, Gyeongbokgung Palace is the most beautiful and remains the largest of all five palaces. It is also visited by the largest numbers of local and international visitors.

I visited here with one of my patient who is recently visiting to Korea at this moment and had surgery few days ago. She wanted me to visit there and asked me how to go there, and I offered her a company since I was also free yesterday!
Besides, I know the travel becomes more fun with somebody else, and there is must-do event which is trying Han-bok (Korean traditional costume) during the tour!

We first went to Insa-dong about 10-15 mins away from the palace and visited one of the rental places to try our Han-bok on. (Wearing Han-bok and visiting to the palace has been so popular in recent few years so there are really lots of rental places near the palace!)
The costume costs 20,000 won for 4 hours each person (+ hair styling and little bag comes together for free but the there was 3,000 won extra for the hat! We so wanted to try the hat so paid more~)
You are free to enter the palace when you are wearing Han-bok, for your information!

Han-bok is originally longer enough to cover foots however those from rental shops are prepared with shorter length since people rent them while visiting places. We could also rent the shoes matching the outfit but just wore our own for comfortability!

As soon as we entered, we met 3 lovely international friends and took photo together! There is a king too! (he must be the tallest king in the outfit I've ever seen, so handsome and cute >_<)

Gyeongbokgung Palace is just sooo huge that what you can see at the front is just all! It is also connnected to its museum so don't miss it. Everywhere we go, we see beautiful backgrounds with pretty women and handsome gentlemen in traditional outfits.

Here myself with my patient! We became so close in just few days and had lots of fun together on our holiday. We asked another international visitor to take a photo together while resting in the traditional cafe drinking iced citron tea! Yummy!
+ she looks still unnoticeable and great when it was only 4th day of thread lifting surgery. I believe Dr.Kim's skilled technique minimizes patient's recovery time like swelling and bruising. She said she would return to work on the last day of this month and there seems to be no problem! Awesome!

While I was entering the palace with full of excitement.
This was my second time visiting to Gyeongbokgung Palace with wearing Han-bok since my first visit last year with another patient of mine ^^ (I, of couse, had visited the palace multiple times and even took my highschool graduation photo there)
If you have a chance to visit to Korea and go to Gyeongbokgung Palace, I strongly recommend you to try Han-bok. (there are many different type of clothes for both man and woman depending on stratification (you can meet king, queen, noble, commoner or more in the palace!)
