 Q1. Firstly, what exactly 'Fat Repositioning' Surgery is?

A1. Fat Repositioning Surgery is to even out the bulging on the lower eyelids to remove the shadow on under eyes.

 

In the past time, Fat Removal Surgery used to be done to remove the fat only where looks bulging on under eyes. It resulted, however, some side effects and disadvantages such unevenness on the lower eyelids or even hollowness caused by removing too much amount of fat therefore recently Fat Repositioning Surgery is much more preferred.

 Q2. Then how Fat Removal and Fat Repositioning are different?

A2. Fat Removal simply removes the excessive amount of fat inside of the eyes, and Fat Repositioning is different as it is replacing the part of excessive fat to the depression area on the lower eyelid bone evenly.

 

Fat Removal may bring the visible effect temporarily after fat removal, however, it could cause even worse depression or recurrence of fat bulging. Therefore the condition such as fat bulging or depression must be solved by precise fat repositioning.

Q3. Is there a possibility of recurrence of recurrence?

A3. Yes, there is.

 

Even after the surgery, circumstances such as aging process or the surgery without knowing the exact cause could recur the eye bag. ST provides the surgery that removes wrinkle line which allows the cause from the beginning therefore the result of the surgery last longer.

Q4. Is there a possibility of Ectropion after Fat Repositioning?

A4. In case of saggy skin under eyes, surgery is done with an incision for lifting effect.

 

It is still possible to have visible scar or Ectropion (eversion of lower eyelids) due to excessive resection or lack of surgical technique. ST operates the surgery with 'Pentagon' method which not only can prevent the possible side effects but also can reconstruction the condition of patient from previous failure.

Q5. When the result starts to show after the surgery?

A5. Recovery may vary depending on individual conditions, however, bruises and swelling disappears within 1-2 weeks

 

and changes more naturally as time goes. (It may take longer in case of having fat graft done together.) In case of patients with quick recovery may feel the change even in a week however majority can see it natural through 1-2 months.
